Moderation Policy
This Moderation Policy explains how Hostinspired handles user-generated content ("Content"), including content uploaded by hosts and content imported from connected third-party accounts (such as Instagram). It should be read alongside our Terms of Use and, where applicable, our Host Terms.
Hostinspired is a hosting platform for user-generated content. We do not pre-approve Content and we do not act as a publisher or editor of Content. Hosts remain responsible for the Content they upload or authorise for import.
1. Our Role
Hostinspired provides tools that allow hosts to publish and display Content. We may take steps to protect users, rights holders, and the integrity of the platform, but any such steps do not amount to approval, certification, or endorsement of Content.
2. What Content Is Not Allowed
Content must be lawful and must not infringe the rights of others. The following are examples of Content that may be removed or restricted:
- Content that infringes copyright, trademarks, database rights, or other intellectual property rights.
- Content that is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, or harassing.
- Content that includes hate or abuse directed at protected characteristics.
- Content that includes personal data of third parties without permission (for example private contact details).
- Content that is misleading or unlawful advertising or promotion (for example false claims, undisclosed promotions, or prohibited prize draws).
- Content that includes malware, harmful code, or attempts to compromise the platform.
3. Automated Technical Measures
Hostinspired may apply automated technical measures to Content for purposes including legal compliance, safety, quality, and platform integrity. These measures are limited in scope, may not be accurate in all cases, and do not guarantee that Content is lawful or rights-cleared.
Examples of automated measures may include:
- temporarily restricting visibility while automated checks are carried out
- muting, removing, or disabling audio where required for legal, compliance, or platform reasons
- detecting potential duplication (for example where the same media appears to have been posted repeatedly in a short period)
- detecting indicators of potential infringement (for example stock imagery patterns or other risk signals)
- detecting certain categories of prohibited wording or obvious spam patterns
- applying standardised, rule-based formatting or clarifications that support compliance (without endorsing or validating the Content)
Any automated measures are applied for platform protection and risk reduction. They do not change the host’s responsibility for Content and do not mean Hostinspired has reviewed or approved Content.
4. Reporting Content and Notice
If you believe Content on Hostinspired infringes your rights or is unlawful, please notify us using our contact form. Where relevant, include sufficient information for us to assess the report.
To help us process reports efficiently, please provide (where applicable):
- a link to the Content on Hostinspired
- your full name and contact details
- an explanation of why the Content is unlawful or infringes your rights
- details of the rights you own or represent (for example copyright ownership)
- any supporting evidence or reference information
- a statement confirming that the information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge
5. What We May Do When We Receive a Report
When we receive a report or become aware of potentially unlawful or infringing Content, we may take one or more actions depending on the circumstances. These actions may include temporarily restricting visibility, disabling access to the Content, removing the Content, requesting further information, or contacting the host associated with the Content.
We may act without notice where necessary to protect users, rights holders, or the platform. We do not guarantee that Content will always be removed, and we may request additional information before acting.
6. Host Account Actions and Repeat Infringement
Hosts are expected to upload and import only Content they own or have permission to use. Where a host repeatedly uploads or imports infringing or unlawful Content, we may suspend or terminate the host account and remove associated Content. We may apply account restrictions where necessary to prevent further infringement.
7. Third-Party Platforms and Imported Content
Where Content is imported from a connected third-party platform (such as Instagram), the host remains responsible for ensuring that they have the rights required for that Content to be displayed on Hostinspired. Third-party platforms have their own terms and policies, and Hostinspired is not responsible for the availability, behaviour, or licensing terms of those platforms.
8. No Legal Advice and No Guarantee
This Moderation Policy is provided for transparency and does not constitute legal advice. Hostinspired does not guarantee that automated measures will detect unlawful or infringing Content, and users should not rely on the platform as a substitute for rights clearance or legal compliance.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Moderation Policy from time to time. Any updates will take effect when published on this page.
